Terms of Service

Welcome to Yorus ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Yorus platform at yorus.co(the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Yorus. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Users under 13 are strictly prohibited from creating an account or using the Service. We may ask you to verify your age at any time and may terminate accounts that do not meet this requirement.
2. Account Registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. User-Generated Content
Yorus is a platform for creating and chatting with AI bots. Users may create, upload, and share content including bot definitions (names, taglines, premises, definitions, opening messages, and tags), uploaded cover and persona avatar images, profile information, and the text inputs you submit during play sessions (collectively, "User Content"). You retain ownership of the User Content you create. By submitting User Content, you grant Yorus a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, distribute, process, and create technical derivatives of your User Content as needed to operate, moderate, protect, and improve the Service.
You agree not to submit User Content that:
- Infringes any third-party intellectual property rights;
- Contains illegal material or promotes illegal activity;
- Is sexually explicit content, or involves minors in any sexual, suggestive, or romantic context;
- Constitutes harassment, hate speech, or threats of violence;
- Promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders;
- Solicits personal information, money, or off-platform contact from other users;
- Contains malware, spam, or deceptive content.
4. AI-Generated Content
Yorus uses artificial intelligence models to generate narration, dialogue, and other story content during interactive play sessions with user-created bots. AI-generated content is produced by machine-learning models in response to your inputs and the bot definition and persona context involved, and does not represent the views or opinions of Yorus. You acknowledge that AI outputs may be inaccurate, unexpected, inconsistent, or unsuitable. Yorus does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. 5. Intellectual Property & DMCA
Yorus respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on Yorus infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA Policy for instructions on filing a takedown notice. We will respond to valid notices promptly and may terminate repeat infringers.
6. Subscriptions, Payments & Refunds
Yorus offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the pricing, payment, and billing terms presented at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access to paid features through that period.
Except where required by applicable law (for example, the 14-day statutory withdrawal right available to consumers in the European Union and United Kingdom for new digital service purchases), all subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused credits, and inactive accounts. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact legal@yorus.co within 30 days of the charge and we will review the dispute in good faith.
6.1 Monthly Credit Limits
Yorus Free and Yorus Aura both include a monthly credit limit. To protect service quality for all users, the following fair-use rules apply:
- Free includes up to 2,000 credits per monthly period. Aura includes up to 7,500 credits per monthly period.
- Beyond this threshold, new AI replies pause until your next billing renewal. We do not charge overage fees and we do not delete or modify your story; your existing content remains accessible.
- You may renew early from within your account to immediately reset your credit counter and resume play.
- Yorus is for personal, human-driven play. Automated, scripted, multi-account, or shared-account use is not permitted and may result in throttling, suspension, or termination.
- Aura adds a higher monthly credit limit, deeper memory, BYOK story replies that do not spend monthly reply credits, early access, and customization.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Yorus does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yorus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yorus and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
12. Moderation & Reporting
Yorus operates a layered content-safety system. The current product includes the following:
- Pre-publication review. Bots submitted by users are screened by a regex pre-filter and an automated AI safety classifier before they are made public. Content that fails screening is rejected and not published. If you believe a rejection is incorrect, you may appeal by emailing legal@yorus.co for human review. If the automated classifier is temporarily unavailable, the bot is held in a manual review queue instead of being auto-rejected.
- Image moderation. Cover images and persona avatars are screened by an automated AI image classifier before they are uploaded to public storage.
- User reports. Signed-in users can report bots, users, and supported chat-message targets using the report controls available in the product. The report API accepts one pending report per signed-in user per target and rate-limits users to 10 reports per hour. Reports may be filed for copyright or IP infringement, inappropriate or explicit content, harassment or hate speech, impersonation, spam, content involving minors inappropriately, or other violations.
- Human review and action. Reports and queued items are reviewed by Yorus staff. Possible actions include taking down the content, notifying the creator, requiring revisions, issuing a warning, suspending or terminating accounts, and (for verified IP claims) processing the takedown under our DMCA Policy.
Automated screening is imperfect and may miss content or reject content incorrectly. If you encounter content that violates these Terms, please use the in-product report controls when available or email legal@yorus.co.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 15 below, any disputes shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
15. Dispute Resolution; Binding Arbitration; Class Action Waiver
Please read this section carefully. It requires you to resolve disputes with Yorus through individual binding arbitration rather than in court, and waives your right to participate in class actions.
Informal resolution first. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to first contact us at legal@yorus.co with a description of the dispute and to attempt to resolve it informally for at least 30 days.
Binding arbitration.If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and Yorus agree that any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be settled by binding individual arbitration. If the parties cannot agree on a consumer-arbitration provider, either party may ask a court of competent jurisdiction to appoint one. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver.You and Yorus agree that each party may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this Section 15 by sending written notice to legal@yorus.cowith the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first creating your account. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.
Small-claims carve-out.Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction. Either party may also seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.
